Hello lovely people,

Like many, I have struggled with my hair. I know how heartbreaking it is when your hair never seems to look or feel good. That's why I want to share my 4 hair care tips!

Before I started my hair care journey, I wanted to figure out why I was having problems with it in the first place. Was it hormonal? Was it stress? Did it have something to do with medication or lack of vitamins?

After doing some research and trying to piece things together, I figured out that my hair problems were due to me quitting birth control and just generally not knowing how to take care of my hair.

That's why I encourage all of you to first look at your health and lifestyle before you tackle any possible hair problems.

Now that that's out of the way, let's get into my 4 hair care tips!

1. I figured out my hair type

I had no idea that I could've been doing damage to my hair by following the advice of people who had a completely different hair type to mine. I thought that in order for me to get that perfect, thick, long hair I had always dreamed of, I would have to do what people who had thick hair were doing.

Boy was I wrong! I was doing things that were causing my hair a lot of damage ( like only washing my hair once a week and using products that were too heavy for my hair ) These things weren't working for my very fine and fragile hair!

That's why I recommend everyone to find their hair type. There are plenty of typing systems online that will help you figure out your "hair pattern". I promise you, it will be a total game changer in your hair care journey.

2. I wear a silk bonnet to bed

I have very fine hair which means that it breaks super easily, especially during the night.

I had looked into protective hairstyles but it felt like they were doing more damage than good.

That's why I decided to invest in a simple silk bonnet to protect my hair during the night and let me tell you.. it has had such a big impact on my hair. My hair isn't breaking as much and it's silky smooth in the morning.

I recommend everyone to invest in a simple silk bonnet, no matter what your hair type is. You can find less expensive bonnets on online stores like SHEIN.

3. I use hair oil consistently

Before starting my hair care journey, I had never really thought about the health of my scalp. I thought that hair oiling was only for the ends of your hair. Again, I was very wrong. You're not taking care of your hair if you're neglecting your scalp!

I have seen such a huge difference in my hair since I started oiling my scalp consistently.

I really love this Dr.Berg scalp and hair oil, but I have used things like coconut, caster and grape seed oil. Pretty much any natural oil will do :)

4. Animal protein! Animal protein! Animal protein!

This one is pretty self evident. Most of us, myself included, are not getting enough animal protein in our diets. There's no amount of product that's gonna help your hair if you're not getting your nutrients.

That's why I take beef liver supplements daily and I have noticed a big difference in both my hair and gut health.

I really recommend these beef liver capsules if you dislike the taste of organ meat.

'till next time

xoxo
